Orange slice nail art! ~

Hello!
I basically abandoned this blog as soon as I started it, heh...BUT I AM BACK...

I bought form Ebay some "femo" (baking modeling clay) nail art 'canes' that are sliced and used as nail art. But while I am waiting for them to arrive, I decided to try making my own canes! So I opted for a simple design, an orange, and then I designed these nails I am wearing:

What do you think? <3 Kawaii? ^^

And apologies for the dodgy photo quality, I have lost the charger for my lovely $400 Olympus camera, so I had to opt for using my phone =_=

I will take a photo and report on the quality of the fruit slices nail art cane when it arrives :)

Let's Go!

Welcome!

So this is my latest blog. My whole life I have had chewed, short, broken and ugly nails. I have a habit of biting my nails when I get stressed (which is, faaaar to often i'm afraid) and chewing the skin around them (yechhh...) which has resulted in, shall we say, less than amazing nails.

Recently though, I have become interested in fake nails, which I used for the first time at my grade 10 leaver's dinner. You know...wear a pricey dress, get your hair and makeup done, and eat in elegance. Same equivalent as an American 'prom' , minus the males...;__; Resulting from that, I now have a decent set of "glamnails" (by Manicare) brand products to do my nails up, including:

- Glue-on nails, pk of 100, natural finish
- Glue pen, dispenses one drop of glue with the push of a button (more accurate glue application)
- 2 nail files, double sided (coarse and fine) for buffing and shaping

Which are the basics, but I then bought a few "Mode" brand nail enamels; a deep sparkly teal colour called 'Jaded', a pretty purple called 'Lilac Dawn', and silver named 'Starlet', as well as a Mode clear top coat. I then got an "Ulta3" clear base coat, and acetone-free nail polish remover. I got some Nailene brand nail art stick-ons to to spice things up a little. And of course, some Swisspers cotton tips, for fixing up spills or mistakes (I developed a handy technique for getting salon perfect painted nails at home, using cotton tips, more on that later).

So, after I had been inspired by another blog about nail care and a womans personal journey to have beautiful nails, I decided to embark on a similar journey.

I will take photos along the way, and show how my nails will progress from ugly, bitten nails to gorgeous, healthy ones (hopefully!). It will take a lot of will power to break my bad habits, but I am determined to get there, while creating some original designs to spice up my nails during the process.

I'm looking forward to showing you what designs I came up with, and sharing my tips from personal experience.

Also, I have grown up in a family that promoted 'harsh chemical free - good for the environment and your health' beauty products, from hand creams to shampoos, so I will also share my knowledge on natural, effective beauty and products I love, as well as even some recipes for D.I.Y beauty <3

Enjoy! And, wish me luck! ^^
